Precious italian red wines: the best only on enoteca properzio

The fine italian red wines for sale on Enoteca Properzio are unmatched: only the best and most sought-after Italian and foreign labels. The Masseto 1998 autographed bottle of Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, the Sassicaia estate San Guido 2007 and the Chateau Cheval Blanc 2005, as well as the Amarone della Valpolicella from Forno Romano 2000 or the Barolo Monfortino Riserva Conterno 2008, are just an example of fine red wines that are available on our online wine shop.

The historic winery of Giacomo Conterno is situated in the Piedmont hills in the province of Cuneo. Its origins date way back to 1900 and nearly as long ago, in 1934 it produced Barolo Monfortino for the first time.

The human factor is at the heart of the Oasi degli Angeli wine cellar, sustained by passion, research and dedication. All this is the heartbeat of Oasi degli Angeli.

italian red wine

Another very rare and valuable red wine is the Marchesi De' Frescobaldi - Ornellaia 2010 special edition. This bottle has been created in collaboration with Michelangelo Pistoletto to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the winery.

On the site there are also many other wine masterpieces, such as the Sassicaia 1985 by Tenuta San Guido (the very year that gave birth to the myth of Sassicaia), the Petrus Pomerol 2015 (characterized by hints of citrus, candies, mulberries, cedar with touches of anise and lavender, well distinguishable on the nose) and the 3 litres Masseto dell'Ornellaia 1995 (best combined with game and foie gras).

Ruby red or plum colored, with pepper or leather rather than fruity notes, each wine has its own personality and distinctive character which accompanies it as time passes by.

Savouring fine italian red wines is a true sensory experience

From smell to taste, tasting a fine red wine is a triumph of flavors, smells and colors. It is the result of tradition and experience gained over time, handed down from generation to generation, under the banner of quality and excellence.

Thus, tasting a red wine turns into a unique experience for all five senses.

Every Italian red wine has its own fascinating history

The different characteristics of a italian wine make it unforgettable. Discovering its infinite facets is essential to fully appreciate and combine it at best, so as to enhance the dish with which it is accompanied.

For this reason, Enoteca Properzio provides technical sheets - with names, countries, regions and descriptions of wines - and detailed images, presenting all the hundreds of bottles and cellars available on the site.

It is also possible to perform a refined search of the label through the vine or price filters, as well as the year - going back in time to the 50s - or, for example, the formats (from 0.375 up to 6 liters).

Barolo Monfortino: an excellent red wine from Giacomo Conterno cellars

Today Roberto Conterno runs the family business, continuing the story of the winery with the same commitment and passion that guided it more than a century ago. This involves careful pruning, elimination of the excess bunches and defoliation that allows the sun and air to filter through properly to the grapes, enabling them to ripen evenly. These traditional stratagems might even be called simple, with their respect for the pace and the whims of nature but, decade after decade, they have made this winery a symbol of Italian excellence around the world. These stratagems leave the wine's traditional fragrances and flavours undistorted. This can only be achieved with a perfect balance between the terroir and the manual activity. Not by chance do Giacomo Conterno wines represent and transmit in a glass the guiding values that have made it the name it is today: respect, love and comprehension for the vine, the land and tradition.barolo conterno winery

Monfortino Conterno: exceptional bottles of historic vintages

Barolo Monfortino, with its intense and enveloping aromas, just like the particularly elegant bouquet, represents only one of the excellences of this winery. Monfortino Conterno, in fact, is accompanied by other exceptional bottles, which have gone down in the history of enology for their harmonious and balanced structure.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Barolo Monfortino - as far as table combinations are concerned - goes perfectly with meat-based dishes, especially with braised meats, as well as with truffle dishes. However, these are so refined red wines that they don't have to be tasted exclusively with a menu, but can also be enjoyed on their own, in all their essence. For anyone wishing to taste Monfortino wine, Enoteca Properzio has collected a selection of historic vintages, collectible and investment bottles perfect to open for an important occasion.

Giacomo Conterno is the demonstration of how the best wines are nothing more than the result of tradition and innovation, but also of passion and professionalism. Precisely these characteristics have ensured that a similar winery has created masterpieces of extreme quality. Each glass of Barolo wine contains unmistakable bouquets and hints so delicious that they are always very pleasant. From the scent to the flavor, from the color to the tannins, there is not a detail that is not noteworthy.

kurni wine

Eleonora Rossi and Marco Casolanetti, the young couple of wine cultivators who gave birth to this wine cellar, made this choice when starting their business of cultivating Montepulciano wine in Cupra Marittima, in the Ascoli Piceno province of the Marche region. This choice points towards a love for wine and work, putting these qualities in front of the creation of a wine that is technically perfect, though void; a wine that oftentimes, in its path to perfection, has lost the personality of its producers.

Kurni and Kupra: Symbol of the Oasi degli Angeli Wine Cellar

Kurni is the symbol of this winery. It is wine that alongside being recognized throughout the years by numerous awards, has made Oasi degli Angeli history: a Montepulciano wine that gifts its lucky tasters with incredible and unique sensations. Its name comes from the nickname of Eleonora’s family, the Curnì (Cornel tree). This plant is as resistant and tenacious as the farmworkers of this land, as they cultivate this sandy and poor area with passion and dedication.

oasi degli angeli

The Oasi degli Angeli winery represents one of the excellencies of the Marche region, as well as an Italian excellency abroad, for it encompasses the finesse of tradition and the passion for innovation. Their wines are perfect to enjoy during an aperitif or to serve with red meat and cheese. Their quality, taste, and flavor make the Kurni and Kupra among the best red wines. While the former is immediately recognizable for its crimson color, the latter is famous for its ruby-red shade.

Montepulciano Kurni or Kupra: so much to choose from

These are both important wines that present soft and delicate tannins. The essential elements in Montepulciano Kurni are the vanilla and banana notes, alongside nuances of tobacco, spices, and red fruit. Furthermore, it is a particularly rich wine, though also balanced. It is perfect when served at 15 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, Kupra offers a spice and blackberry aroma. If you are a sweet and elegant wine lover, then this wine is without a doubt the best choice for you. To maximize its taste, we suggest enjoying it at 15 degrees Celsius.
