Based in the province of Perugia, in the heart of the municipality of Montefalco, this company was founded in 1971 by a textile businessman - Arnaldo Caprai - who decided to follow his dream and produce wine. In 1988, he handed the reins of the company over to his son, Marco, who, with enthusiasm and dedication, added that extra drive that led to the final recognition of his products on the wine scene.

In 1993, the Sagrantino di Montefalco selection (which celebrated the company’s 25th anniversary) finally and undisputedly sealed Marco Caprai’s reputation as a great Italian wine producer.

Today, 40 years after its foundation, the company has made huge progress in terms of experimentation and research and also in the agronomic and oenological field, while still preserving its original identity and guiding principles of tradition, innovation and territory.

The vineyards and winery are in Garbole, a town in the municipality of Tregnago near Verona, in the Illasi valley, between Soave and Valpolicella. The Finetto brothers describe themselves as “self-taught, innovators outside the box” and, over the years, have enthusiastically and resolutely pursued a clear, well-defined project.

It evokes the memories, thoughts and emotions that lurk in the most ancestral depths of our being” and finally, the latest addition to the Garbole family, a limited edition Hurlo, which needs to be ordered in advance, “as breath of spirit expressed in liquid form that reaches the profoundest depths of our emotions."

Its excellency comes from the amazing quality of the land where grapes are harvested, and from the constant improvements in the production process. Generally, this wine is made with Merlot grapes, which are transformed into wine in complete purity. When the situation allows for it, a small percentage of Cabernet Franc is also added.
