From a production point of view, the history of Montevertine is a bit complex. An average of 80,000 bottles a year are obtained from the vineyards, on only three labels, all Sangiovese-based, called: Le Pergole Torte, Montervertine and Pian del Ciampolo. The latter two with small percentages of Canaiolo and Colorino. In the long history of the company, there has also been space for various experiments and attempts, which have given birth to wines that cannot be found today, such as the Thea of May 1992, made from botrytized grapes and vinified in white.
The color is a dark ruby red. The bouquet hints of red fruits, violets and fresh spices. In the mouth it develops rhythmic and balanced sweet acid contrast, which amplifies length and pleasure.
