Ornellaia comes to life from the best terroirs of Bolgheri, a famous wine-growing area that has the merit of having generated great red wines between past and present. This wine bears the name of the renowned Tenuta Ornellaia as the utmost care and passion are dedicated to it.
It is a cuvée resulting from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes, with a strictly manual and late harvest. This wine goes through a soft pressing and macerates on the skins for up to 15 days. It is then aged in barrique in the Ornellaia cellar, at a controlled temperature, for 18 months. A further refinement of 12 months in the bottle precedes the marketing for what is one of the most renowned wine brands in the world.
The colour is a deep ruby red. The nose aromas of ripe red fruit and a balsamic final.In the mouth the tannins are delicate with a spicy flavors such as liquorice and coffee.
To be matched with red meat, game and mature cheeses.
